Cllr Keith WalkerCouncillor Keith Walker represents the Balderton division on Nottinghamshire County Council. He has served on the authority for more than 24 years and was Chairman of the Council for the 2011-12 Civic Year. In 2015, Keith was also elected to represent the Farndon & Fernwood ward on Newark & Sherwood District Council, alongside his brother Ivor, having represented the former Farndon ward for more than 30 years.
Keith Is the Vice-Chairman of Personnel Committee. He also sits on the Planning & Licensing Committee, and represents the Council on the Bassetlaw, Newark & Sherwood Community Safety Partnership. He is a former chairman of Balderton & Fernwood Safer Neighbourhood Group and was a governor of the Grove School, New Balderton until it became an Academy in September 2012. Keith was born in Elston and left school at 15 years of age to become a motor mechanic, having his own garage for 15 years before going to work at Hoval Boilers Ltd in Newark. Keith is very much a family man and enjoys spending time with his children and grandchildren. In his spare time he enjoys gardening, DIY, travel, theatre and socialising with local people.
