Cllr Mike Quigley MBE
Councillor biography coming shortly.Cllr Mike Quigley MBE was first elected to the County Council in 2009, and was re-elected to represent Retford West in 2017. He is also a Bassetlaw District Councillor for East Retford East, where he was formerly Leader of the Council.
Mike sits on the Finance & Major Contracts and Governance & Ethics committees, and is one of the Council’s representatives on the Combined Fire Authority. He also represents the County Council on the Doncaster Sheffield Airport Consultative Committee, working to ensure that the airport supports businesses and residents to help Bassetlaw and Nottinghamshire thrive.
Outside of County Hall, Mike is a prominent campaigner – having successfully worked alongside campaign group RAGE (Retford Action Group for Equality) to stop Bassetlaw being swept into the Sheffield City Region without proper consultation. He is also Chair of the Bassetlaw Hospice, and has 25 years of experience working alongside the NHS. In 2004, he was awarded his MBE for services to the Bassetlaw Hospice, and the community of Retford.
