Cllr Neil Clarke MBECllr Neil Clarke MBE represents the Bingham West division, having been elected in 2017. He is also a Rushcliffe Borough Councillor, having represented the Radcliffe on Trent division since 1986. He also acted as Leader of Rushcliffe Borough Council since 2005.
Neil is the Chairman of the Personnel Committee and a permanent member of the Senior Staffing Subcommittee, giving him overall scrutiny over the personnel decisions across the Council’s many departments. He also sits on the Planning and Licensing committee, and the Nottinghamshire Skills and Employment Board. Outside of the County Council, Neil is an executive member of the Local Government Association, where he ensures that councils like Nottinghamshire’s have the resources they need to serve local residents. He has undertaken many improvement projects including numerous corporate peer reviews, mentoring, training and workshop projects. In 2013, he was awarded an MBE for his services to local government. Neil enjoys watching rugby, cricket and ice hockey and going for the occasional cycle ride, escapes to Tuscany whenever he can, has recently taken up skiing and regularly tries to play golf, but enjoys the walk anyway!
