Cllr Richard ButlerRichard Butler has represented the Cotgrave division on Nottinghamshire County Council since 2001, and is also a Rushcliffe Borough Councillor representing the ward of the same name.
He is currently the Majority Group Business Manager, and is responsible for appointing members to committees and co-ordinating with other political groups to assist with the smooth running of the Council. He also serves on the Health Scrutiny and Policy committees, and several outside organisations related to his division. Richard was born and raised in the County, having attended school in Rushcliffe. He has a background in post-16 learning and communications, having worked in newspaper and TV advertising and the retail sector. He is interested in wildlife and has a keen concern for the green belt around the county. He says he wants the rest of the country to realise that Nottinghamshire is a fascinating county with so many attractive areas. In the past, Richard has acted as the Conservative spokesman on Environment & Sustainability issues, and sat on committees including Community Safety, Adult Social Care & Health, and Planning. Richard regularly attends the meetings of Parish Councils in the Cotgrave division and is happy to receive comments, observations and requests.
