Cllr Richard Jackson
Councillor Richard Jackson was first elected to represent the Chilwell division on Nottinghamshire County Council at a by-election in June 2002, and has represented the changing division ever since. Currently, he works with Cllr Eric Kerry to represent the residents of Toton, Chilwell, and Attenborough. Councillor Richard Jackson also represents the Chilwell West ward on Broxtowe Borough Council, where he is Leader of the Council.
Richard is Chairman of the Finance and major Contracts committee, and is responsible for scrutinising the contracts taken out by the Council – including Via, Veolia, and Inspire – and ensuring that they are delivering value for money. He also sits on the Policy and Improvement and Change committees.
Born in Chilwell, Richard was educated at the Meadow Lane, College House and Alderman White Schools, then at Basford College and Nottingham Trent University where he studied Civil Engineering. In the past, Richard has also served as Chairman of the Transport and Highways Committee.
